Work History
Staked as Field cl 1-8 (YA95914) in August 1986 and Field cl 9-30 (YA96233) by Freegold Venture, a project funded by Chevron Minerals Ltd. In April 1987 the property was optioned to Big Creek Resources Ltd on behalf of the Big Creek Joint Venture (Big Creek Resources and Rexford Minerals Ltd), which performed mapping and geochemical sampling in 1987.
Archer, Cathro & Associates (1981) re-staked the anomaly as Sun cl 1-24 (YB47067) in July 1994. M. Johnson staked the Star cl 1-16 (YB47083) 4 km to the northwest, while LaRock Mining Corp. staked the Moon cl 1-44 & 69- 75 (YB47180) to the north in July 1994.
Re-staked as Goldy cl 1-24 (YC18716) in June 2000 by Midnight Mines Ltd (B. Harris). In 2006, Northern Freegold Resources performed a regional airborne magnetic and EM survey that included the Field occurrence.
Triumph Gold Corporation acquired the Northern Freegold claims, including the Goldy claims, in 2015.
Geology & Mineralization
The claims overlie Triassic foliated biotite-hornblende granodiorite of the Granite Mountain batholith. They were staked to cover a gold silt anomaly located by a GSC survey.
Silt sampling in 1987 returned weakly anomalous gold (12 ppb Au). Trenching encountered fresh granodiorite with no notable mineralization.
