Work History
The Dan cl were staked here in 1967 but never recorded. Restaked as Ess cl (YA14847) in Feb/77 by Itsi JV (Aquitaine & St Joseph), which explored with mapping and geochem surveys in 1977, and a small Maxmin survey and two holes (324.3 m) in 1978.
Capsule Geology
The claims cover a succession of pyritic, silver-grey weathering shale and siltstone of the Devono-Mississippian Earn Group in the core of a northwest trending anticline. The holes were collared in the core of the anticline on the valley floor to test the base of the Earn Group. They cut 61.0 m of Earn Group mudstone before intersecting black limestone of the Road River Formation. The Earn Group mudstone contains abundant thin pyrite laminae, often accompanied by thin quartz veinlets, and occasional layers of fine grained, bedded pyrite up to 4 inches thick. No other sulphides or barite were intersected.
