Work History

Staked as 300 Mary and Argo cl (Y39) in Feb/66 by SUP Vangorda Syndicate (PCE Exploration Ltd, Canadian Superior Exploration Ltd and United States S & R Ltd), which carried out airborne magnetometer surveying, geological mapping and grid soil sampling later in the year.
Partially restaked as Mark cl 1-77 (Y53864) in Jul/70 by Anvil Syndicate (Canadian Reserve Oil and Gas Ltd, Aquitaine Company of Canada Ltd, Canadian Southern Petroleum Ltd, Occidental Minerals Ltd and Husky Oil Ltd), which carried out geological mapping, geochemical, magnetometer and gravity surveying in 1970-72; as CL cl 1-22 (Y79771) on the east side in Jul/74 by Vestor Exploration Ltd; and as Tay cl 1-48 (YA18190) in Jul/77 by Anvil-Fishook Joint Venture (Amax Potash Ltd, Aquitaine and Union Oil), which carried out geological mapping and geochemical surveying in 1977, Maxmin, gravity, magnetometer, EM and grid geochemical surveying in 1978 and 1979, and drilled 1 hole (137.9 m) in 1980.

Capsule Geology

The claims are underlain by a gently northeast-dipping sequence of Lower Cambrian two-mica quartz schist and calc-silicate horizons overlain by calcareous chlorite phyllite. These rocks are assigned to the Mount Mye formation.
The SUP Vangorda Syndicate found two weak geochemical anomalies but no mineralization. Gravity anomalies outlined by Anvil Syndicate were accompanied by background geochemical readings and were attributed to topographic highs.
The 1978 surveys outlined several EM anomalies and 6 gravity anomalies. The drillhole, which tested an EM anomaly, intersected a graphitic limestone layer in phyllite.
