Exploration History
Regional Resources Ltd staked the PL cl 1-70 (YA71144) in June/84 and conducted road work, soil and rock sampling. In 1986 they occurrence was trenched. The claims were later allowed to lapse.
In Oct/96 G. Lee restaked the occurrence as the cl 1-48 (YB87360). R. Stack added Wildcat 51-58 (YB91858) to the block at the same time. The partners carried out magnetic and EM surveying in 1998 and 1999.
In 2009, Killdeer Minerals Inc. optioned the Wildcat property from G. Lee and performed five holes (902 m) of diamond drilling on the main Wildcat occurrence.
Capsule Geology
The occurrence is situated within the Cassiar terrane which constitutes the northern part of the Omineca Belt of the Canadian Cordillera. It is underlain by Lower Paleozoic carbonates and siliciclastic sediments which are bound by the intrusive rocks of the Cassiar Batholith to the west. The area is cut by some steep tectonic zones and minor intrusive bodies. Trenching on the showing in 1986 returned 1.82% zinc, 25 g/t silver over 4 m and exposed numerous manganese oxide stained rocks.
