Staked as But cl 1-98 (Y78572) in Apr/74 by Canadian Superior Exploration Ltd, which carried out geological mapping grid soil sampling later in the year. 

United Keno Mines Ltd staked Moon cl 1-106 (YA49219) just north of the occurrence in May/80. The company carried out geological mapping and soil sampling programs in 1980 and 81. 

S. Ryan staked Jam cl 1-24 (YC46854) 4 km to the northwest in Apr/2006 and collected several lines of deep (1 meter) soil samples later in the year. Ryan added Jam cl 25-106 (YC53603) in Aug/2006. The expanded claim block covers an area located north and east of this occurrence. 

In Nov/2006 Ryan optioned a 100% interest in the Jam claims and 14 other neighboring claim groups to BCGold Corp in return for cash, shares and certain work commitments. In 2007 BCGold flew a regional airborne magnetic and radiometric survey over the Jam and other claim blocks located in the area. In 2008 the company carried out Mobile Metal Ion (MMI) soil sampling over selected areas of the Jam claims.
 
In Jul/2010 BCGold accelerated the final payment under its property option agreement with Ryan and secured a 100% interest in the Jam and 15 other claim blocks optioned from Ryan. The company allowed Jam cl 1-24 to lapse in Apr/2013 while Jam cl 25-106 lapsed in Aug/2015.

GEOLOGY

The Jam claims are centered over a series of unnamed creeks located approximately 14 km northwest of Copper North Mining Corp’s Carmacks Copper Creek deposit (Minfile Occurrence #115I 008). The area is located on the boundary between the Yukon-Tanana and Stikina terranes. Access is currently by helicopter.

The area is covered by deep overburden and outcrop is sparse. Based on Colpron et al. 2016 compilation map, the Jam claim block is mainly underlain by underlain by Late Triassic to Early Jurassic granodiorite assigned to the Granite Mountain batholith. The batholith intrudes Yukon-Tanana terrane basement rocks along its southwest margin and is faulted against Stikina rocks to the northeast along the Hoochekoo fault. To the northwest, the batholith is overlain by mafic to intermediate volcanic rocks of the Upper Cretaceous Carmacks Group and to the southeast; the Miller fault juxtaposes Carmacks Group volcanic rocks against the batholith. The Granite Mountain batholith is intruded by dacite dikes related to the Lower Cretaceous Mt. Nansen Group volcanics and by feeder dikes of the overlying Carmacks Group volcanic rocks. Broadly, the batholith is composed of a western Early Jurassic Long Lake suite part and an eastern latest Triassic to Early Jurassic Minto suite part; the contact between the two is poorly understood.

The occurrence location appears to mark the center point of Canadian Superior Explorations' But claim block. The company's 1974 exploration program did not locate any mineralization or anomalous areas. Soil sampling carried out by United Ken Hill Mines outlined 3 weakly anomalous copper soil anomalies associated with zones of strongly foliated granodiorite. 

Information on BCGold’s exploration programs is rather sketchy. No detailed results have been released regarding the Jam claims. The company's web site displays maps showing the results of the aeromagnetic vertical gradient and the Mobile Metal Ion (MMI) soil sampling programs. The claim block appears to be bisected by 8 northerly trending and 4 east-west trending aeromagnetic lineaments. Some of these lineaments appear proximal to and/or coincident to copper Mobile Metal Ion (MMI) soil anomalies.
