Work History
Staked as 217 Max cl (Y52929) in Jun/70 by Atlas EL, which performed mapping, grid soil sampling, hand trenching, and a mag survey later in the year. The claims were optioned in early 1971 by Imperial OL, which conducted an IP survey and drilled 4 holes (457.5 m) later in the year. The ownership of the Max claims was shown in 1972 as Dynasty-48%, Atlas-32%, and Imperial Oil-20%.
In Oct/71, Occidental Mls Corp L staked 113 Oni cl (Y63026) adjoining the Max group on the west and explored them by grid soil sampling and geological mapping in 1972. In 1975, Atlas changed its name to Cima Res L and transferred its interest.
Capsule Geology
Claims cover the contact of a small batholith of Nisling Range alaskite, which cuts quartzite, gneiss and marble. Three phases of the intrusion are present: quartz monzonite, porphyritic alaskite with felsite dykes, and mafic dykes.
Molybdenum occurs in quartz veins and as minor disseminations in the westernmost of two quartz monzonite plugs, and as rosettes in quartz veins cutting quartzite. Chalcopyrite occurs with pyrite and pyrrhotite in breccia pockets in quartzite and in felsite dykes, and with molybdenite in quartz monzonite. Grab samples of quartz monzonite assayed 0.03% Cu and 009% Mo and metasedimentary rocks assayed 0.31% Cu and 0.003% Mo.
