Work History
Staked as the Dan cl 1-40 (Y95653) in Aug/74 by Amax Exploration Incorporated, which carried out prospecting and mapping. Restaked as Sol cl 1-6 (YB65737) by J. Hajek in Sep/96.
Capsule Geology
The area is underlain by Upper Proterozoic Windermere Supergroup rocks (Twitya Formation and Profeit Dolostone) unconformably overlain by Middle Proterozoic Pinguicula Group (Unit C) carbonate rocks to the west.
Galena and sphalerite occur in veinlets and local breccias within a 244 m thick sequence of stromatolitic Pofeit Dolostone. Two additional occurrences about 2 km to the west within Pinguicula Formation rocks are described by Laznicka: occurrence 7 consists of disseminated chalcopyrite in green shale while occurrence 8 consists of galena, chalcopyrite and pyrite in weakly fractured dolomite immediately below a major unconformity.
