Work History
Staked as Dave, etc cl (78467) in Aug/57 by M. Fuhr, etc and optioned by Canex, which performed mapping, a mag survey and bulldozer trenching later in the year. The adjoining Polar, Dates, etc cl (78294) were staked in Apr/57 by Cassiar Asbestos Corp L, which acquired the showing in 1958, surveyed the claims in 1963 and took them to lease in 1964.
The west side was fringe staked as Ton cl (87737) in Jul/66 by Sphere Dev Corp L, which flew an aeromag survey in 1967, and as Bill cl (Y57451) in Aug/70 by Cassiar. The south and west sides were restaked as Tartzhart cl (YA55628) in May/81 by Teslin JV (Brinco Mg, Cominco & Exploram), which performed mapping, soil sampling and excavator pitting later in the year.
Capsule Geology
A fibre zone was found by trenching an aeromagnetic anomaly in an area of thin, but extensive, overburden. Lengths up to 13 mm have been reported but the majority of veinlets are less than 6 mm and average grade is visually estimated at less than 2%.
The showings occur in dark green, massive but locally sheared, serpentinite within graphitic schist of the Nasina Series. A large aeromagnetic anomaly is situated west of the showing but no mineralization or serpentinite has been found there.
