Work History
The southeast target, on Wolverine Hill, was staked as Dot, Bet, etc cl (78231) in Apr/59 by Cassiar Asbestos Corp, which bulldozer trenched later in the year, drilled 4 holes (389.2 m) and surveyed the claims in 1963 and took the claims to lease in 1964.
The other target, on Trace Hill, was first staked as Mary cl (78288) in Apr/57 by M. Fuhr et al., who bulldozer trenched in 1958. It was restaked by Cassiar in Jun/63 as Dodge, etc cl (79237), explored with trenching and drilling in 1963 and 1965, surveyed and taken to lease in 1963 and 1964.
Capsule Geology
The Wolverine Creek deposit consists of about 45 000 tonnes grading about 4 to 5% asbestos classified as Group 5, cement grade. Drilling showed it to be a thin erosional remnant. It occurs in light green, massive to highly sheared serpentinite enclosed by schist of the Nasina Series and quartz-carbonate alteration.
Similar mineralization occurring on Trace Hill may have originally been part of the one larger body which was later dissected by erosion. Drilling indicated that average grade on Trace Hill is only about 1%.
