Work History
The easterly target was staked as Dolly & Lorna cl (78318) in May/59 following an aeromag survey by a joint venture between Cons Zinc Corp & Yukon Cons Gold Corp, which explored with mapping and a mag survey later in the year.
Cassiar Asbestos Corp restaked this target as Bev & Mary cl (87477) and staked the westerly target as the adjoining Wolf cl (87507) in Jun/66 and explored both with mapping and map surveys later in the year. The adjoining Gib & Big cl (87587) were tied on to the south in Jul/66 by Sphere Dev CL, which explored with an aeromag survey later in the year.
Restaked as Turk cl (YA64503) in Aug/81 by Teslin JV (Cassiar Res L, Cominco & Exploram), which explored with mapping and soil sampling in 1981 and 1982 and limited trenching in 1982.
Capsule Geology
Chrysotile fibre is occasionally present in isolated ultramafic outcrops that are associated with aeromagnetic anomalies along a ridge. They are surrounded by extensive overburden. The ultramafic rocks are mostly composed of massive, dark to medium green serpentinite and are underlain by quartzite and schist of the Nasina Series. Grades are very low. Soil sampling outlined four fibre anomalies as large as 1500 by 250 m in area. Fibre up to 11.5 mm long was found in soil but no significant mineralization was found in trenches.
