Work History
Staked in Aug/74 as Dem cl 1-16 (Y90095) and Dem cl 17-42 (Y90053) by Hudson Bay Exploration and Development Company Ltd following a reconnaissance geochemical stream sediment and prospecting program. In Jun & Jul/75 the company carried out geological mapping, soil geochemical sampling and prospecting
Restaked as Boz cl 1-12 (YB40105) by K. Owerko in Jul/91.
In Jun/96, High Sense Geophysics Ltd under contract to Equity Engineering Limited flew a regional, helicopter borne, magnetic and radiometric survey over most of the Coal Creek Inlier, but no new claims were staked.
Capsule Geology
This occurrence is underlain by Lower Proterozoic Gillespie Lake black shale, dolomite and siltstone; and Middle Proterozoic diabase dykes of the Hart River Assemblage (?), (Gordy and Makepeace, 2000).
Four types of minor mineralization are present at the occurrence: (1) trace amounts of disseminated pyrite and chalcopyrite in the diabase dykes; (2) minor chrysotile asbestos (fibre length 0.1-1.25 cm) noted in one diabase dyke; (3) local disseminations of pyrite, malachite, chalcopyrite, galena and minor hydrozincite in shear hosted quartz carbonate veins (5-75 cm wide); and (4) disseminated galena, pyrite, and trace hydrozincite in the matrix of a dolomite breccia.
The regional airborne geophysical survey outlined numerous northeast trending features which were interpreted to be faults.
