Work History
Initially staked in Sep/68 as part of a large block of Sharol cl (Yl5654) by P. Findlay & H. Scheffen, who bulldozer trenched in 1969. Restaked as Tos cl (YA31838) in Sep/78 by Teslin JV (Cassiar Asbestos Corp L, Cominco L & Exploram Mls L), which explored with mapping and sampling in 1979.
Restaked as XL cl (YA79163) in May/83 by Herdis Int Can L, which performed mapping, mag, IP and geochem surveys later in the year. Part of the XL group was transferred to Laberge Res L, which performed similar work. A. Amendolagine tied on Renzo cl (YA84359) to the southwest in Jul/84 and M. Woods added Tower cl (YA84678) to the southwest in Oct/84 and performed soil sampling later in the year. Herdis and Laberge performed road building, soil sampling, mapping and IP, mag and max-min surveys in 1984 and backhoe trenching, road building, goechem sampling and drilled 4 holes (211 m) in 1985.
Restaked by B. Gagnon as Wett cl (YB40236) in Sep/91. E. Chesney staked Wet cl 1-10 (YB53652) 1 km to the southeast in May/95.
Capsule Geology
Several chrysotile fibre zones are associated with small serpentinized ultramafic bodies that occur within sericitic phases of the Klondike Schist. They are mostly covered by thin but extensive overburden and are best exposed in roadcuts and trenches. The fibre is generally less than 30 mm long and grade is visually estimated at about 1%.
The 1983 work was directed toward base and precious metal potential of the Klondike Schist and outlined broad areas with higher magnetic response that coincided with weakly anomalous silver and nickel geochem values. The trenching and drilling gave disappointing results.
Work at the Tower claims did not outline any anomalies.
