Work History

Staked as Tour cl (YA2942) in Oct/75 by Hudson Bay Exploration and Development Company Ltd, which carried out mapping and geochem sampling in 1975-76.
Restaked as Gila cl 1-6 (YB52445) by M. Baknes in Jul/94. Later in the month Pendilsle Resources Ltd carried out an exploration program consisting of geological mapping, rock and silt sediment sampling.
In Jun/96, High Sense Geophysics Ltd under contract to Equity Engineering Limited flew a regional, helicopter borne, magnetic and radiometric survey over most of the Coal Creek Inlier.

Capsule Geology

The claims are underlain by clastic rocks of the Middle to Upper Proterozoic Fifteenmile Group and were staked on geochemical anomalies.
Equity Engineering noted that the eastern third of the Gila claims are underlain by Proterozoic breccias and diorite intrusions which appear to have a close spatial and perhaps, genetic association with the breccias. A grab sample collected from an outcrop of homolithic breccia in contact with diorite in the southeast corner of the claims assayed 2 710 ppm Cu, 60 ppb Au, 0.6 ppm Ag, 17 ppm Co, 36 ppm Pb and 84 ppm Zn. Mineralization consisted of patchy chalcopyrite mineralization over less than 10 m width. One silt sediment sample returned a slightly anomalous silver value of 0.4 ppm. The source of this anomaly is believed to be sulphide mineralization, which was discovered in breccia exposures upstream of the sample site.
The regional airborne geophysical survey outlined numerous northeast trending features which were interpreted to be faults.
