Work History

Staked as Asbestos and Platinum cl (14A) in Sep/00 and Ophir cl (193A) in Nov/00 by G.B. Erwin. Restaked as Crow and Platinum cl (5414) in Dec/00. The west side was extensively staked in 1900-1902 as Dawson City Group, explored with trenching and prospecting, and later surveyed about 1908. Part of this work was financed by Dawson City Quartz Mg CL.
Restaked as John, etc cl (57814) in Feb/53 by F.G. Caley and J. Sestak, who hand trenched and bulldozed in 1953, 1954 and 1958. Restaked as Sharol cl (Yl5654) in Sep/68 by P. Findlay and H. Scheffen, who bulldozer trenched in 1969; as Tito cl (YA49756) in May/80 by Teslin JV (Cassiar Res L, Cominco and Exploram Mls L), which performed mapping and sampling later in the year; and as Trondiuk cl (YA79896) in Jul/84 by P. Henry. D. Griffin and S. Hill tied on Lynette cl (YA88060) in Aug/86, and trenched in 1987 and 1988. Hill added more Lynette cl (YB23442) in May/89.
Restaked as Lanny cl (YB31880) in Aug/90 by B. Gagnon and E. Chesney, who performed road work and drilling. Restaked as 14 Tim cl (YB40185) in Jul/91 by Kenzie, Campbell and Grenon, who performed blast trenching.

Capsule Geology

Veinlets of chrysotile slip-fibre up to 30 mm long are exposed in old hand pits at the end of a wagon road. The mineralization occurs in a poorly exposed, irregular serpentinite body that extends 2 km uphill from the river bank. Most of the activity in this vicinity between 1901 and 1908 was apparently directed toward lode and placer gold potential, with disappointing results. The serpentinite body is enclosed within Klondike Schist (Permian).
