Work History
Staked as Boyle cl (YA64008) in Aug/81 by Cominco, which performed mapping and geochem sampling later in the year. Milchem Can L added Milk Um cl (YA64193) in Aug/81 and performed mapping and sampling in 1982.
In Jul/95 G. MacKay staked First cl 1-12 (YB64380) 7 km to the southwest.
Restaked within MC cl 1-682 (YB99163) by Blackstone Resources Inc in Oct/97.
Capsule Geology
Bedded barite occurs with minor galena and sphalerite on the Boyle claims within a thick sequence of graptolitic shale, silty mudstone and mafic volcanic rocks of the Ordovician to Lower Devonian Road River Formation along the south edge of the Dawson Thrust. Barite up to 12 m wide occurs over a 3 to 4 km strike length, mostly as float. The best assay was 32% BaSO4 across 7 m.
Along strike to the west, one outcrop of massive barite was found on the Milk Um group. It contains no laminations or witherite inclusions and has a specific gravity of 4.0.
