Work History
Originally staked as Lost Horses cl 1-20 (YB23480) in May/89 by 6847 Yukon Ltd, the claims were allowed to lapse the following year.
In Dec/94 L. Hart staked HP cl 1-30 (YB53028) 3 km northwest of the occurrence. Hart carried out reconnaissance geochemical silt and rock sampling in 2001 and geochemical soil sampling in 2002.
In Jul/2001, R.S. Adamson staked Bell cl 1-24 (YC20876) contiguously to the north and east of the six remaining HP claims and carried out reconnaissance geochemical silt and rock sampling later in the year; staked Blue cl 1-4 (YC21554) and carried out limited geochemical soil sampling on the Bell and Blue claims in Jun/2002; and staked Ron cl, Dan cl, Red cl 1-2, Rose cl 1-2 and Blue cl 5 (YC21865) contiguously with the south and west boundaries of the claim group in Sep/2002.
Capsule Geology
The claims are underlain by schist, quartzite and limestone of the Yusezyu Formation, part of the Upper Proterozoic Hyland Group lying within the Tombstone Strain Zone. The area of interest is located near the head waters of Squaw Creek approximately 3 km north of the Two Sisters batholith, a Late Cretaceous granitic and monzonitic stock of the McQuesten intrusive suite which has returned a U-Pb age determination of 64.0 +/-0.8 Ma.
Reconnaissance geochemical silt and rock sampling on and surrounding the claim block returned background to weakly anomalous values for base and precious metals, a single silt sample collected just south of Bell cl 18 returned 23.9 ppb Au. A dozen rock grab samples were collected during the course of the various work programs, with the best results coming from a sample of `oxidized quartz float¿ collected east of the claim group near the head of 65 Pup which returned 15.5 ppb Au with 89.8 ppb As. Soil sampling returned mostly background and a few weakly anomalous values with a few spot highs for Au (up to 24.5 ppb) and Ag (up to 289 ppb).
