Work History

Staked as part of a large block of 252 Snark claims (YA17407) in Dec/77 by CCH Resources Ltd and Inco Ltd, which carried out extensive mapping and geochemical sampling in 1978. In 1979, Billiton Exploration Canada Ltd joined the project (Cortin Joint Venture) which carried out additional mapping and sampling from 1979 to 1981. CCH changed its name to Campbell Resources Inc in 1980.
Restaked as Quest cl 1-4 (YA77756) in Aug/85 by Archer, Cathro and Associates (1981) Ltd and sold to Silverquest Resources Ltd in 1986. Silverquest staked Quest cl 5-20 (YA83039) in Mar/86 to the west and carried out prospecting and reconnaissance geochemistry in 1986 and soil sampling, prospecting and bulldozer trenching in 1987. Silverquest staked Amino cl 1-27 (YA83533) in Jun/87 contiguously to the north.
In 1991 Silverquest changed it name to Cash Resources Inc and subsequently carried out mapping, prospecting and grid soil geochemical sampling on the northern part of the property in 1994 and prospecting of the remaining twenty three claims in 1998.

Capsule Geology

The claims are underlain by Late Proterozoic to Early Cambrian Hyland Group quartzite, phyllite and rare limestone cut by a series of 1 to 6 m wide, steeply dipping, north and east-northeast trending veins, some of which have been traced for 100 to 400 m along strike. The mineralization appears to be zoned: veins on the east side of the property containing lenses of galena, pyrite, sphalerite, arsenopyrite, chalcopyrite and tetrahedrite in a quartz-siderite gangue, while those on the west side are more intensely oxidized and exhibit primarily limonite with galena in a siderite matrix. Silver to lead ratios are high in both areas but generally increase toward the west, while gold to silver ratios are highest on the east side.
Silverquest¿s trenching program returned assays as high as 11 382 g/t Ag, 1.6 g/t Au and 32.6% Pb across 10 cm. Shattered wallrock and gangue zones adjacent to the lenses contain limonite fractures and pods and typically return 30 to 200 g/t Ag.
Prospecting in 1998 confirmed many of the previous analysis and extended the strike length of a number of the known veins in the area. Other geochemcial anomalies associated with north trending linears in the central part of the property remain untested.
