Work History
Staked as EPD cl (YA30569) in Jun/78 by CCH Res L (Campbell Chibougamau ML) & Inco, which performed mapping and sampling later in the year.  In 1979, Billiton E Can L joined CCH & Inco and formed the Cortin Project, which added Lamb & Flag claims and carried out soil sampling and hand trenching in 1979, drilled 4 holes (322 m) in 1979.

CCH changed its name to Campbell Res Inc in 1980. Drilled 916 m in 8 holes in 1980, hand trenched and soil sampled. Drilled 8 holes (1524 m) in 1981, and performed geochem and geophysical surveys in 1981.

In Apr/92 G.S. Davidson and B. Harris restaked the occurrence with NHL cl 1-56 (YB28373). Davidson registered the NHL cl 21-24 (YB28393) separately in his own name. In the summer of 1994 Davidson carried out a small reconnaissance exploration program on his claims and resampled diamond drill core stored at the H.S. Bostock Core Library (DIAND) in Whitehorse. G. Davidson restaked the NHL cl 1-12 & 25-28 (YB43907) in Feb/95.

Restaked in 2010 and 2011 as O 1-91, OVA9A 18, OV 1-310, OVX 1-21, OVA 1-62.  In 2011, the company undertook mapping, and geochemical surveys. The area was re-staked in 2019 as Oli 1-24.  In 2019, the company explored with rock and soil geochemical surveys and undertook petrographic work. In 2020, Strategic Metals performed rock and soil sampling.

Capsule Geology

A late Cretaceous porphyritic muscovite-biotite granite of the McQuesten Suite Boulder Creek stock intrudes Hyland Group metasedimentary rocks (Late Proterozoic or Early Cambrian). Originally the claims covered the location of stream pan concentrates containing up to 7.4% Sn and 1.9% WO3. Soil sampling in 1978 and 1979 located several east-trending tin anomalies and found malachite-stained float assaying 0.2% Sn, 0.8% Cu, 0.2% Zn and 45 g/t Ag.

The four holes drilled in 1979 at 25 m intervals, all contained tin values. DDH 1979-01 intersected 6.02 m of 1.03% Sn and 14.98 g/t Ag.  DDH 1981-13 intersected multiple mineralized intervals: 0.16 m of 0.39% Sn and 3.60 g/t Ag; 2.9 m of 0.57% Sn and 11.28 g/t Ag; and, 0.80 m of 15.0% Sn and 4.00 g/t Ag.

The best intersection in 1981 assayed 0.9% Sn and 12 g/t Ag across 3.7 m and 2.5% Sn and 2 g/t Ag across 1.0 m. The best mineralization occurs as cassiterite and sphalerite with silver values in tourmaline-matrix breccias in quartzite and schist. Cassiterite also occurs in narrow dry fractures, quartz veins and actinolite-pyrrhotite-chlorite skarns. Actinolite-chlorite-calcite-diopside-quartz-epidote skarn containing pyrrhotite, pyrite, scheelite and cassiterite assayed 0.9% Sn and 4 ppm Ag over 1.7 m.

Davidson and Harris explored the property for Fort Knox style intrusion-related gold mineralization in 1994. Emond and Lynch (1992) noted a strong positive correlation between gold and bismuth, and suggested that bismuth can be used as a pathfinder for gold in this area.  Twenty-seven core samples from various mineralized sections of drill core stored at the core library were anomalous in Ag-Cu-Zn-Bi but did not return significant Au values. A sample of actinolite skarn containing a 2 cm wide band of arsenopyrite was collected from an old trench by a geologist from the Canada-Yukon Geoscience office and assayed 1630 ppb Au, 34.9 ppm Ag, 2 685 ppm Cu and 739 ppm Zn.

In 2011, Goldstrike undertook a ridge and spur soil sampling program that covered the property (1326 soil samples) and collected 31 rock samples to the south and to the west. Rock sample 1217925 returned 4003 ppb Au, 0.66% Cu, >100 ppm Ag and >2000 ppm Co.
