Work History
Staked as Syndicate & Plinc cl (YA79198) in Oct/83 by Arbor Res L and Ebony Gold Corp, which conducted geochem, IP, VLF EM and airborne Input EM surveys and drilled one hole (about 100 m) on the boundary of the Syndicate 24/Plinc 21 claims in 1984, and explored with similar grid surveys in 1986.
A. Osborne tied on Osborne cl (YB23641) to the west side of the Plinc claim in Aug/89. Faith ML optioned 50% of Arbor's interests in Jun/89 and performed geochem surveys and trenching later that year.
In the fall of 1990, a joint venture group consisting of Arbor Resources and Faith Mines (Syndicate claims) and Appian Resources and Klondike Reef Mines ('98' claims) conducted IP and resistivity surveys on the southeast boundary of the Syndicate and '98' claims. The Syndicate 1-83 cl, Filler 1-8 cl and Plinc 1-68 cl were optioned to Kennecott Canada Inc in May/93. In Jan/95 Kennecott transferred the claims back to Arbor Resources Inc. Arbor Resources Inc changes name to Klondike Gold Mining Corporation.
Capsule Geology
The northeastern part of the area is underlain by rusty-weathering muscovite-quartz schist (felsic metavolcanic) with some bands of carbonaceous quartz-muscovite schist of the Permian Klondike Schist Assemblage (unit Psqm). These units grade southwest into quartz and feldspar augen-bearing quartz-muscovite schist (felsic metaporphyry; unit Psa), and then into gneissic biotite quartz monzonite (Sulphur Creek orthogneiss; unit Pqmg). The geology is interpreted to reflect a sequence of felsic volcanic rocks with interlayered carbonaceous sediments that has been intruded by a quartz monzonite intrusion and its finer-grained, porphyritic equivalents.
The 1984 drillhole tested a geochemical anomaly and intersected quartz-sericite-chlorite schist and graphite schist with disseminated pyrite and trace amounts of sphalerite, galena and chalcopyrite.
The 1990 geophysical survey tested IP and resistivity responses in an area of known placer potential.
