Staked as Run cl (YA80452) in June, 1984 by a joint venture between United Keno Hill Mines Ltd. and Falconbridge Ltd., which drilled a fence of percussion holes (359.7 m) in 1984 and performed mapping and geochemical sampling in 1986.
J.S. Christie staked the GO cl 50-83 (YB41152) 5 km to the south in September, 1992 and explored with a geochemical survey in July, 1993. Christie added the adjacent RR cl 1-50 (YB41928) in the summer of 1993. The following May he added RR cl 55-60 (YB48744) to the west side of the GO claims. Christie re-staked the original prospect in June, 1993 with the GR cl 5-22 (YB44833) and later in the summer added GR cl 53-74 (YB44857).
Between June 1st and October 31st, 1993 Christie carried out rock and soil sampling and drilled 65 auger holes near Rob Roy, Gyppo and Dominion Creeks, on the RR, GO and GR claims. In the summer and fall of 1995 Christie drilled 114 (923 m) rotary auger holes on the GR, RR and GO claims.
Wealth Resources Ltd. staked the R's cl 1-10 (YB45019) and the BFC cl 1-38 (YB45029) to the east of the GR claims in the summer of 1993. The company carried out a geochemical survey on Grant Pup, a tributary of Dominion Creek, in August, 1993 and in June, 1994 collected 116 soil samples from two east-west trending lines, which bisected the BFC claims.
During 1996, Barramundi Gold Inc. carried out a regional silt sampling, mapping, prospecting, and rock sampling program covering part of the Klondike region.
In October, 1997 Christie staked RR cl 59-70 (YC06085) to the west overtop MINFILE occurrence 115O 092.
Capsule Geology
The area is underlain by Middle to Late Permian medium to dark green chlorite-quartz-muscovite schist (mafic schist) of the Klondike Schist Assemblage, Yukon Tanana terrane.
Drilling by United Keno Hill Mining Ltd. and Falconbridge Ltd. returned low gold values with up to 27 ppm Ag over 9.1 m.
Christie's soil and rock sampling outlined some anomalous areas but more work is needed to understand their economic significance. The 65 auger holes gave mixed results with the best three holes returning between 3.56 g/t Au, 5.54 g/t Au and 6.34 g/t Au. The three holes were located on the boundary between RR cl 3 and GO cl 50 and were drilled into bedrock described as grey sericite schist and greenish grey chlorite sericite schist.
Wealth staked the BFC claims to investigate highly anomalous stream sediments from the mouth of Bullfrog Creek reported by the GSC. The two lines were positioned on the side-slopes of Bullfrog Creek and samples were collected at 50 m spacing across the width of the claim block. Each sample was tested by fire assay for Au and by 32-element ICP. None were anomalous.
Christie drilled near the junction of Rob Roy Creek and Dominion Creeks. A rotary hydraulic auger mounted on a Nodwell drilled holes ranging in diameter from 16.5 cm to 19 cm and from 3 m to 14.6 m in depth. Most extended 1.5 to 3 m into bedrock. The best intersection was 1.5 m of pale green schist, which assayed 2,060 ppb Au.
Barramundi's 1996 regional silt program returned an anomalous gold result between 24 and 37 Pup which drain into Gold Run Creek. The silt sample returned 15 ppb Au.
