Exploration History

Staked as Hart cl 1-24 and Dolly cl 1-8 (Y65846) in Jan/73 by Silver Standard Mines Ltd, which carried out geological mapping and geochemical rock sampling later in the year. Restaked as Spork cl 1-4 (YA55624) in Jun/81 by L. Stevenson.

Restaked as Loto cl 1-10 (YC13349) in Mar/99 by Prime Properties Syndicate, which staked Jo Jo cl 1-10 (YC13359) to the southwest and Logo cl 1-10 (YC13369) 4 km east at the same time. The claims were subsequently optioned to Prospector International Resources Inc, which carried out geochemical rock, silt and soil sampling and prospecting in 1999. In Oct/99 Prime Properties staked Logo cl 11-35 (YC17734) between the existing claim groups to form a single contiguous claim block.

The Chant claims were staked in 2010 by S. Ryan and optioned to White Gold Corp. The Hart claims were staked in 2013 by White Gold.

Capsule Geology

Mapping by the Geological Survey of Canada in 1972 located several outcrops of Late Cretaceous quartz-pebble conglomerate in the area around Mount Hart. The conglomerates which have thicknesses of 15 to 30 m and outcrop strike lengths of up to 0.8 km are overlain by Late Cretaceous andesitic volcanic rocks. A small outcrop of the conglomerate, approximately 2.7 km south-southwest of Mount Hart, was reported to contain visible gold.

Soil sampling in the Mount Hart area has defined a soil geochemical anomaly measuring 5km north-south and up to 3.5km east-west with values of up to 1120 ppb Au, 14.8 ppm Ag, 1543 ppm As, 81 ppm Sb, 42.2 ppm Bi and 1677 ppm Pb.
