Work History
 

*This occurrence was renamed Arlington to end confusion with Arcus Development Group Inc.’s Touleary occurrence (Minfile Occurrence #115O 176) located approximately 6 km to the north. In April 2016 the occurrence was moved 1.5 km to the south to the approximate center point of the strongest soil anomaly detected by ATAC Resources/Arcus Development Group.

Staked as a single Arlington claim (39018) in Sep/36 by F.G. Calky.

F. Stretch staked Discovery cl 1-2 (YA84640) one km to the northwest in Sep/84. Stretch restaked the area as Frebru cl 1-4 (YA88952) in Mar/87.

ATAC Resources staked TL cl 1-109 (YC76097) approximately 6 km to the north in Sep/2008. In Apr/2009 the company added TL cl 110-183 (YC93602).  In Jun/2009 ATAC Resources optioned a 50 % interest in the Touleary claims and 3 other neighboring claim blocks to Arcus Development Group in return for cash, shares and certain work conditions. The four optioned claim groups (Touleary, Dan Man, Shamrock and Green Gulch) were collectively called the Dawson Gold Project. Arcus Development carried out soil sampling in 2009 and 2010 and dug 6 excavator trenches in 2010 on these claims which are centered over Minfile Occurrence #115O 176. 

Restaked within TL cl 184-580 (YD30405) and cl 581-632 (YD31571) in Aug/2010 by ATAC Resources and Arcus Development Group. In Mar/2011 Arcus Development flew a helicopter-borne magnetometer survey over the Dawson Gold project including the TL claims.
 
During the 2011 exploration season the company carried out detailed auger in-fill soil sampling over previously identified soil geochemical and newly defined geophysical anomalies located around Minfile Occurrence #115O 176 located approximately 6 km to the north. The company also carried out ridge crest and spur soil sampling over the West and South grids which are associated with this occurrence.
 
Later in the exploration season Arcus Development collared 5 diamond drill holes (935 m) to test the down-dip continuity of a mineralized interval exposed in a 2010 excavator trench located at Minfile Occurrence 115O 176.  The mineralized exposure coincided with a linear magnetic low identified by the helicopter-borne magnetic survey flown earlier in the year.
 
During the winter of 2011-12, Arcus Development carried out petrographic, zircon and scanning electron microscope studies on drill core recovered from the 2011 drilling program.
 
In Mar/2012 Arcus Development fully exercised its property option with ATAC Resources and acquired a 50% interest in the Dawson Gold Project.
 
Between Late August and early September 2012 the company carried out follow-up soil sampling on grids centered over the occurrence area. The company dug 48 hand pits to investigate various soil anomalies located within the sampled area. No exploration work was carried out on the northern half of the property. 

In 2013 the company dug a further 133 hand pits in and around the occurrence to try and further delineate soil anomalies detected in 2012.  
 

GEOLOGY

The occurrence area is located between the Yukon River to the south and Thistle Mountain to the north, in west-central Yukon. The actual occurrence is located approximately 6 km south of Minfile Occurrence #115O 176 which has seen the majority of exploration work carried out on the TL claim block.
 
The area was most recently mapped during regional geological mapping by the Geological Survey of Canada in the early 2000’s, first published by Ryan and Gordey (2001a) and compiled with surrounding map sheets by Gordey and Ryan (2005). Arcus Development has only carried out limited geological mapping on their claim block and the regional mapping of Ryan and Gordey (2001a) remains the best geological map for the property.
 
The area is underlain by a series of thrust slices comprised of Devonian to Mississippian metabasite and metafelsite assigned to the Finlayson assemblage of the Yukon-Tanana terrane (Gordey and Ryan, 2001b). Some rocks especially those located at the southern end of the claim block, near the Yukon River, (and this occurrence) may be younger and belong to the Permian age, Klondike Schist assemblage (J. Ryan, pers. comm., 2012). The metavolcanic rocks are intruded by Permian age K-feldspar rich granitic orthogneiss.
 
Up until the end of 2011, Arcus Development has spent most of their time exploring the main Touleary occurrence (Minfile Occurrence #115O 176) located 6 km to the north. Soil sampling carried out in 2011 on the south half of the claim block covered the West grid located 4.5 km to the northwest and the South grid which encircled the occurrence. Results from the West grid returned background to weakly anomalous values for all elements. 

Results from the South grid returned two areas of significant soil geochemical response; anomalies labeled South “A” and South “B”. Anomaly South “B” is centered approximately 2 km northwest of the occurrence, measures approximately 600 m by 600 m and is characterized by coincident lead-silver-zinc responses and coincident but weak corresponding copper values. Anomaly South “A” covers the occurrence location and areas to the northeast, measures approximately 2 000 m long by 200 to 400 m wide and represents strongly coincident lead-zinc responses and lesser coincident copper values along an east to northeasterly trend.

In 2012 ATAC Resources and Arcus Development performed infill soil sampling on the South “A” anomaly which they renamed anomaly “C”. Sampling was carried out in a south-southeast trending arc located approximately and forty-eight soil pits were hand dug on the highest individual soil anomalies.  Additional auger soil samples were collected from the bottom of the pits. Results show that the anomaly is silver-copper-lead and zinc rich but depleted in gold. In 2013 the companies dug a further 113 hand pits and collected soil samples from the bottom of the pits. 

The occurrence location marks the approximate center point of the strongest soil response associated with anomaly “C”.
