Work History

Staked as the Schist cl (Y20593) in Aug/67 by the Aishihik Syndicate (Mt Washington Copper CL, Granite City Platinum L, Coin Canyon ML and Tay River ML. Tay River was controlled by Utica ML, Silver Standard ML and Copper Ridge ML). Restaked as Bug cl (Y5O992) in Mar/70 by Largo ML, which conducted mapping and reconnaissance geochem.

Since 2010, this area has received geological mapping, rock and soil geochemical sampling, hand pitting, magnetic and radiometric surveying, and excavator trenching.

Capsule Geology

The Schist occurrence is located within the Yukon-Tanana Terrane. The YTT represents a continental arc that developed along the ancient pacific margin of North America from Late Devonian to Permian. The area is underlain by the Snowcap assemblage metasedimentary rocks that are cut by splay faults and porphyry dykes.

In the Schist area, two epithermal, vein and breccia zones were exposed during excavator trenching, the vein exposures comprise locally drusy, white to dark grey quartz with subtle banding. The breccia is monolithic with sericite-altered green to grey clasts of an unknown protolith. The veins, breccias and hydrothermally-altered metamorphic rocks host gold, silver and arsenic mineralization.

Some of the anomalous rock sampling results include:
- I357278: 1.13 g/t gold, 1.1 g/t silver, 2390 ppm arsenic and 27 ppm antimony
- I357174: 0873 g/t gold, 9.8 g/t silver, 1965 ppm arsenic and 53 ppm antimony
- I357181: 2.78 g/t gold, 25.7 g/t silver, 955 arsenic and 51 ppm antimony
- I357267: 6.29 g/t gold, 7.6 g/t silver, 3110 ppm arsenic and 26 ppm antimony
