Work History
The claims around the Tahte deposit were initially staked in Aug/77 as the TAH cl (YA19437) and first explored in 1980. They were then restaked as a block of 800 Nick cl (YB24764) in 1989. The area was restaked in 2009 by Cathro Resources Corp. but the claims have since lapsed (as of Jun/19).
Capsule Geology
The occurrence is underlain by Jurassic foliated granodiorite and leucocratic quartz monzonite, intruded by plugs and dykes of Cretaceous dacite porphyry. In 2010, a broad area (>500 m by 1000 m) of silica-clay-sericite-pyrite alteration of intrusive rock was mapped and corresponds with minimal soil anomalies. Relatively strong IP anomalies have been idenitified in the vicinity of the occurrence.
In 1980, holes were drilled in a fence across the IP anomaly and cut supergene-altered, highly fractured pyritic and quartz veined feldspar porphyry with minor molybdenite in quartz veins and along fractures. Traces of malachite, chalcocite, fluorite and gypsum were also seen along fractures. The core was resampled and reassayed in 2010, with Hole TA-80-03 returning the most significant results with many of the samples anomalous in Au (range 35 to 170 ppb), Cu (range 156 to 1134 ppm) and Mo (range 25 to 229 ppm).
