Work History
Located on the edge of the large block of claims fringe staked around the Canalask deposit in 1953. Staked as Hazel cl (Y21381) in Dec/67 by J.A. Hanna and optioned to Moly-Win Mg L, which did a limited amount of bulldozer trenching in Jun/68. The north side was restaked in Jun/87 as WR cl (YA97560) by Harjay ECL, which performed magnetic and VLF-EM surveys in Jun/88, and follow-up test pitting of anomalies in Jun/90.
Capsule Geology
The 1967 claims covered a rumoured discovery of copper float made by a bulldozer driver while building a winter road. The specimens consisted of greenish volcanic rocks but did not contain any copper minerals. Trenching did not turn up anything significant.
The 1987 claims cover a gabbro body containing traces of pyrrhotite. The 1988 geophysical surveys located several weak to moderate magnetic highs and four strong VLF conductors that trend 120°. Two blast trenches in 1990 exposed pyritic quartz pebble conglomerate and chert layers with background gold values.
