Work History

Staked as Jennifer cl 1-10 (YA82629) in Jul/84 by S. Hill and R. Rogers, who carried out prospecting and geochemical rock sampling mapping in 1985 and possibly 1986, although no report covering work in the second year was ever filed for assessment purposes.
Restaked as Kincora cl 1-30 (YB13934) in Sep/88 by R. Stack, who carried out prospecting that year and blast trenching, geochemical rock sampling and propecting in 1989.
Restaked as Jen cl 26-40 and 251 (YC26733) in Feb/2004 by T. Morgan. Subsequently, in a press release dated 12 Feb/2004, Klondike Gold Corporation announced that it had optioned these and other claims in the area jointly held by Morgan and V. Matkovich . Klondike Gold carried out geological, geochemical and geophysical work on the other claims to the east (Minfile Occurrence #115B 008) later in the year. No work was completed on the Jen claims in 2004.

Capsule Geology

Quartz-carbonate veins containing chalcopyrite, bornite, tetrahedrite, enargite, chalcocite and specular hematite cut a fault-bounded block of grey, siliceous highly-fractured limestone at the head of Silver Creek. The veins are strongly stained with malachite and azurite, range from 8 to 110 cm thick and contain numerous vuggy cavities lined with euhedral quartz crystals. Selected specimens of vein material assayed up to 1481 g/t Ag, 35.14 g/t Au and 22.5% Cu, while a chip sample returned 380 g/t Ag and 0.36% Cu over 35 cm.
Blast trenching on the east side of the ridge in 1989 exposed one vein over a strike length of 9.0 m. A 1.1 m chip sample assayed 64.5 g/t Ag, 9 041 ppm Cu, 1 684 ppm Pb, 1 704 ppm Zn, 1 390 ppm As, 1 600 ppm Ba, 4 140 ppm Sb and >5 000 ppb Hg. A narrow quartz-chalcopyrite-galena vein on the lower west side of the ridge contained 387.8 g/t Ag, 6.33% Cu and 2.66% Pb, as well as 12 321 ppm Zn, 8 840 ppm As, 28 600 ppm Sb and >5 000 ppb Hg.
