Exploration History

Galena float was reportedly discover in the area about 1949, but the area was not staked until Oct/62 as Bob cl 1-108 (82441) by the Titan Project Joint Venture (Noranda Mines Ltd, Canex Aerial Exploration Ltd, Homestake Explorations Ltd, and Kerr Addison Gold Mines Ltd), which prospected and mapped in 1963.

Partly restaked by United Keno Hill Mines Ltd in Jun/65 as the G cl 1-10 (84222) and N cl 1-8 (84274) following release of regional geochemical data collected during 1964 by the Geological Survey of Canada's Operation Keno. These claims were prospected and soil sampled later in the year.

Restaked within Erin cl 1-184 (Y32291) in Mar/69 by United Keno Hill Mines Ltd, which conducted mapping and geochemical sampling in 1969 and 1970. Amax of Canada Ltd restaked the showing as the Hit cl 1-96 (YA39657) in Apr/79 and performed mapping and geochem surveys later in the year.

Restaked by Amax as Tag 1-24 (YB14366) in Aug/91. HRC Development Corporation performed a geological and geochemical survey on the Tag claims in 1992, added the Tag 25-40 cl (YB22327) in Jul/93, and prospected and sampled in Aug/93. In Jul/94 HRC carried out further prospecting and rock and soil sampling on the claims. In 1995, HRC trenched and sampled over the soil sample anomalies identified in 1994. In Mar/97 HRC staked Bre cl 1-16 (YB65985) east and south of the Tag claims.

The area was restaked in 2003 and a sampling program was conducted later that year. In 2011 conducted a regional geochemical and mapping program, and in 2018 further trenching uncovered an east-west trending mineralized shear zone.

Victoria Gold Corp completed trenching in 2018 and large drill programs on the site in 2020, 2021 and 2022. In the fall of 2022 Victoria Gold announced a maiden inferred resource containing 1M oz of gold.

Capsule Geology

The Raven occurrence is located within the south eastern portion of the Nugget Stock. The Nugget stock consists of a 2.2 kilometer by 1.2-kilometer, Cretaceous age, medium to coarse grained granodiorite stock and occurs on the eastern side of the Lynx Creek valley. The area is underlain by the Devonian to Mississippian age Earn Group and the Early Carboniferous age Keno Hill Quartzite which have been deformed by greenschist facies metamorphism, folding, and thrusting (Gordey and Makepeace, 2003).  The Raven occurrence is hosted in a shear zone corridor within the Nugget Stock, in close association with the intrusion-metasediment contact.

The Raven occurrence is highlighted by coincident gold + arsenic + bismuth soil anomalies. Trenching in the fall of 2018 uncovered scorodite, bismuth and siderite related sulphide veins buried under a metre of overburden. Trench assays from 2018 returned from trace to 124.0 metres of 3.50 g/t Au including 58.0 metres of 4.68 g/t Au.

In September, 2022, the company announce a maiden mineral resource in the inferred category of 19,956,934 tonnes grading 1.67 g/t gold for a total of 1,070,239 oz of gold.
