Work History
Staked as A cl 1-16 (83877) & Julie cl 1-4 (83893) in Feb/65 by Arivaca Explorations Ltd through a leak in geochemical results from a stream sediment survey (Operation Keno) conducted by the Geological Survey of Canada in 1964. Results were not officially released until Apr/65.
Explored by airborne and ground EM surveys and geochemistry in 1966 and hand pitting in 1967. Several EM anomalies were found.
Capsule Geology
The area lies near the north-central boundary of the Selwyn Basin, a predominantly off-shelf metasedimentary and metavolcanic sequence deposited west of ancestral North America. G. Abbott, (1990-1) a geologist employed by Exploration and Geologcal Services Division, Yukon Region (Indian and Northern Affairs Canada), subsequently evolved into the Yukon Geological Survey remapped the area in the late 1980's. His work shows the occurrence is underlain by Devonian to Mississippian rocks of the Earn Group and Keno Hill Quartzite.
Geophysical work conducted by Arivica Resources Ltd outlined numerous EM conductors which follow-up work attributed to pyritic shales. No mineralization was found and the claims were dropped.
