Work History

Staked in Aug/73 as Cor cl (Y84910) by Consolidated Coast Silver Mines Ltd. Adjoining claims staked in Aug-Nov/73 include Dick cl 1-48 (Y84962) staked by QC Exploration Ltd; Tom claims (33 claims not staked sequentially, cl 1 = Y85970) staked by Bullion Mountain Mining Ltd and Cadet Resources Ltd; 33 additional Tom claims (cl 13 = Y85882) staked by Hitec Development Company Ltd; King claims (Y88468) staked by Pan Arctic Exploration Ltd; BF claims (Y87918) staked by D. Waugh; and Ace cl 1-32 (Y85822) and 35-48 (Y85856) staked by Chatex Industries Ltd.
During 1974, geological mapping and soil sampling were performed by Chatex, Bullion Mountain and QC.
The northwest corner of the Ace group was restaked as BH cl (Y97382) in May/75 by O. Hairsine.

Capsule Geology

The area is underlain by an elongate fault-bounded package of Upper Proterozoic carbonate to siliciclastic rocks. Upper Proterozoic Sheepbed Formation siliciclastic rocks north of the claim area are conformably overlain by predominantly Upper Proterozoic Risky Formation dolomite. West to northwest trending fold axes and faults deform the units. The most prominent deformation is believed to be related to late Mesozoic (Laramide) deformation. Bedding strikes northeasterly and dips to the southeast.
Several small showings, including one on the Cor group, consist of sphalerite, galena and pyrite on fractures cutting Risky dolomite. On the Dick group, sphalerite occurs with quartz over a length of 152 m and a stratigraphic thickness of 30 m within Risky dolomite.
Chatex reported a chip sample taken in a gossan area 15 m by 9 m assayed 9.9% Zn. The mineralization consists of smithsonite and quartz filling fractures near a widespread zinc anomaly. Traces of galena and sphalerite were also reported in quartz veins cutting dolomite on the Tom group.
