Staked as Ursa cl (YA75857) in Aug/81 by Noranda, which performed mapping later in the year. Restaked Jul/91 as Alg cl (YB18525) by Kennecott Canada Inc. which performed a reconnaissance geological and geochemical survey in 1992.

Chalcopyrite occurs with idaite, witherite and norsethite in Cambrian Sekwi Formation carbonates.
