Work History

Staked as BI 1 (13142) in Jun/20 by F. McNeill, who explored with shallow shafting. Restaked as Keno etc cl (59609) in Jul/50 by Kenmayo Yukon ML; and restaked as Keno cl (62873) in Aug/55 by M.E. White and J.R. Walli, then optioned to Silden ML.
Restaked in Aug/61 by J.B. O'Neill and H. Barchen as the Wernecke cl (80905), which were explored with bulldozing in 1962-63 by Dualco EL (Highland Bell, Leitch, Area ML, Dome ML and Lake Expanse Gold ML). The claims were optioned by R. Murdock in Dec/64 and transferred in Jul/66 to a private company, Cro-Mur Mg & EL, which performed bulldozer trenching, geochem and geophysical surveys and minor diamond drilling in 1966-70.
The adjoining New Moon cl (83227) on the southwest side were staked by F. Chudy in Aug/63 and restaked as Arc cl (84565) by Cro-Mur in Aug/66. The Railroad cl (Y6859) were added to the northwest by Cro-Mur and A. Parker in Aug/67 and were explored by airborne and ground geophysical surveys.
The Wernecke and Railroad groups were optioned in Mar/79 by Canada Tungsten Mg Corp, which explored by bulldozing, geochem sampling and Maxmin EM later in the year and with 6 drill holes (649.8 m) on the Wernecke No. 1 claim in 1980. Restaked as Bar cl (YA83005) in Jan/86 by A. Barchen, who trenched in 1988. R. Barchen added more Bar cl (YB38371) in Mar/92.
Restaked as Jack cl 1-5 (YB65603) and Pot cl 1-5 (YB65604) by J. Hajek in Jul/96. In Jul/97B. Keenan staked Jazz cl 1-18 (YB81005) to the west.

Capsule Geology

One or more transverse type veins occur in schist and greenstone below the Keno Hill Quartzite. One vein, about 45 cm wide, has been traced for a strike length of 122 m. The veins are very weakly mineralized with galena and tetrahedrite. A selected specimen of mineralized material assayed 3901.7 g/t Ag, 24.0 g/t Au, 8.9% Pb and 2.3% Zn.
The Cantung trenching partially explored a longitudinal type quartz-arsenopyrite vein with minor gold values but the drilling failed to locate the vein.
