Work History
Staked as Mor cl 1-8 (95066) in Dec/65 by Anvil Mining Corporation Ltd, which carried out airborne magnetometer and EM surveying in 1966, and gravity surveying and drilled one hole (134 m) on Mor cl 39 in 1969.
North part restaked as Pod cl 1-107 (YB12391) in Dec/87 by Curragh Resources Inc. In Nov/94 Anvil Range Mining Corporation acquired all claims owned by Curragh following the bankruptcy of the latter.
In Jan/98 Anvil Range filed for court protection in order to restructure the company. In Jan/99 Anvil Range¿s stock was delisted and the company entered bankruptcy proceedings.
Capsule Geology
The 1969 drill hole intersected chlorite-biotite-sericite schist with bands of andalusite, garnet and epidote. The only sulphides were weakly disseminated pyrite, pyrrhotite stringers, and a trace of chalcopyrite. The mineralization occurs in the Lower Cambrian Mount Mye formation in an area of extensive overburden.
