Work History
Staked as Hoot cl (Y59389) in Oct/70 by Atlas EL for the Hess Project, a joint venture with Quebec Cartier Mg CL and Phillip Bros Can L, which carried out prospecting and sampling in 1971. Restaked as Splash cl (YB26478) in Aug/89 by R. Diment.
Capsule Geology
Minor galena-bearing vein float is associated with a gossan which coincides with a weak geochemical anomaly. Some skarn float was also seen.The claims are underlain by Cambro-Ordovician siltstone and chert, Devono-Mississippian Earn Group clastics with minor limestone, and chert of the Permian Mt Christie Formation. A small mid-Cretaceous hornblende granodiorite stock intrudes the sedimentary sequence.
