Work History
Staked as Tel cl 1-64 (99782) in Feb/66 by Yukon Copper Ltd, Ming cl 17-100 (95141) in Dec/65 by Ace Mining Company Ltd, and OK cl 1-64 (94980) in Dec/65 by Giant Exploration Ltd, all tied on to the south side of Anvil's Ace group. Yukon Copper flew an airborne magnetometer and EM survey and carried out geological mapping and soil geochemical sampling in 1966, while Giant carried out ground magnetometer surveying and Ace Mining carried out soil geochemical sampling and geophysical surveying. Yukon Copper changed its name to Northern Empire Mines, in Jul/67. Giant carried out EM and grid soil geochemical surveying in 1969.
The north side was restaked as Dot cl 1-42 (YA7852) in Aug/76 by Vangorda Project (Welcome North Mines Ltd and Getty Mines Ltd), which carried out geological mapping, geochemical sampling, magnetometer, EM and minor gravity surveying and drilled one hole (101 m) in 1977 and EM surveying in 1978 and 1979.
Capsule Geology
The southern part of the area is underlain by Lower Cambrian phyllite and schist of the Mount Mye formation, while the northern part is underlain by carbonaceous phyllites of the Ordivician to Devonian Swim Lakes formation. The drill hole tested a small gravity anomaly in the Swim Lakes formation that was found to be unmineralized.
