Work History
Staked as Hench cl (YA34550) in Aug/78 by St Joseph EL, which explored with mapping and geochem surveys later in 1978, and geochem, VLF, EM and IP surveys in 1979, and 5 holes (556 m) in 1980. Getty Can Mls L tied on Clingon cl (YA56270) on the east side in Jul/80 and performed mapping and geochem sampling later in the year. St Joseph changed its name to Sulpetro Mls L in 1981.
Capsule Geology
Galena, sphalerite and minor chalcopyrite occur in veins and a thin skarn zone developed in phyllite and schist of Ordovician to Devonian age near the margin of a small stock of Tertiary quartz-feldspar porphyry. The best surface assays were 18.9% Pb, 14.8% Zn, 82.3 g/t Ag and 0.06% Cu across a thickness of 15 cm.
The geophysical surveys outlined a carbonaceous black shale horizon thought be part of the Devono-Mississippian Earn Group. The shale is moderately anomalous in Cu, Pb, Zn, Ag and Ba. The drilling tested the best geophysical and geochemical targets for stratabound mineralization, with disappointing results.
A chalcopyrite-bearing quartz vein in shale was found to be the source of a geochemical anomaly on the Clingon group.
