Work History
Staked as Fuller cl (60093) in Sep/50 by Hudson Bay Mg, which explored with mapping and sampling in 1950 and some drilling in 1951. Restaked as Itsi cl (79858) in Oct/62 by W.S. Kennedy; as Tara cl (Y2362) in Feb/66 by Northern Empire ML (Yukon Copper L), which mapped and sampled in 1967 and drilled 3 holes (32.6 m) in 1970 on the Tara #3d; as Lou cl (YA497) in Aug/76 by D. Reinke; and as RY cl (YA36547)in Apr/79 by S. Young, who trenched later in the year.
In 1980, Silver Sceptre Res L acquired the RY group and performed mapping and magnetic surveys later in the year.
Capsule Geology
Galena, sphalerite, and chalcopyrite occur in lenses of pyrite and pyrrhotite in a 3 m wide shear zone that outcrops in a creek and can be traced downhill for 244 m. The vein cuts hornfelsed greywacke of the Devono-Mississippian Earn Group, near its contact with the Itsi Stock.
Average grade of earlier chip sampling was about 2.8% Pb, 2.4% Zn, 109.7 g/t Ag, and 0.2% Cu. Sampling by D. Reinke in 1979 returned high tin assays, the best of which was 4.1% Sn, 3.7% Pb, 2.6% Zn, 106.3 g/t Ag, 0.2% Cu and traces of WO3 and Au across 3.7 m.
