Work History
Staked as Lee cl 1-192 (YI9118) in Sep/67 by Spartan Explorations Ltd, which carried out prospecting, grid soil sampling and magnetic surveying before staking Lee cl 193-232 (Y22187) in Oct/67. In 1968, Spartan carried out geological mapping, grid soil sampling, magnetic and EM surveying. Restaked as Peak cl (YA45145) in Aug/79 by D. Butler, and as North cl 1-8 and Star cl 1-16 (YA57107) in Oct/80 by R. Schmidt and M. Jack, who restaked as Oro cl 1-8 and D.G. cl 1-4 (YB01594) in Sep/87.
Restaked as Primo cl 1-6 (YB85166) by P. Risby in Jun/96, who added Primo cl 7-96 (YB85645) in Jul/96 before the property was optioned by Klondike Gold Ltd. Klondike Gold staked Primo cl 97-189 (YB87195) in Aug/96 and carried out magnetic and EM surveying and drilled seven holes (450 m) later in the year. The company added Primo cl 190-223 (YB87719) in Oct/96 before ending the option in Apr/97 by failing to meet the requirements of the agreement.
Capsule Geology
Galena, sphalerite and minor chalcopyrite mineralization associated with pyrrhotite occur in Proterozoic limy argillite, that was previously interpreted to be a skarn. The geology of the property was reinterpreted by Klondike Gold as a potential volcanogenic massive sulfide target based on mapping that identified the presence of felsic to mafic volcanic flows and tuffs that are closely associated with known mineralization. Drilling intersected banded and massive sulfide mineralization hosted by argillaceous siltstone and chert. The best intersection (Hole 96-6) was 3.6% Zn and 7 g/t Ag over 2.3 m.
