Work History

Staked as Bryan and Pedro cl (88533) in Sep-Oct/63 by Norquest JV (Anaconda, Asbestos Corp, Bralorne Pioneer, Granby, New Jersey Zinc, and Utah), which built a road and performed trenching and soil sampling in 1964 and 1966, soil sampling in 1969 and more road work and trenching in 1970.
In 1973, the claims were transferred to New Jersey Zinc, which drilled 13 holes (582.8 m) later in the year and transferred the property to a new company, Blackjack ML.
Shell Canada Resources Ltd tied on the Cal cl (YA54371) in Apr/80 and entered a joint venture with Blackjack, performing road repair, line cutting, mapping, geochem sampling and trenching in 1980-81, and drilled part of 5 holes (137.8 m) on this occurrence in 1981.

Capsule Geology

Dark brown sphalerite, galena, pyrrhotite and pyrite with minor chalcopyrite and scheelite are finely disseminated in an epidote-rich gneiss band, which is cut by numerous dykes and sills related to a Cretaceous stock 1.6 km to the east. The mineralized band has been traced for a length of 396 m on surface and reaches a maximum thickness of 12.2 m.
The following assays were reported from selected specimens:

The 1981 drilling encountered erratic zinc values within several mineralized bands.
