Work History
This showing was found by hunters in 1968 and was staked as Reid cl (YB14890) in Aug/88 by Imp Met Corp. T. Dodge tied on Who cl (YB15293) to the north. Imperial Met Corp performed reconnaissance prospecting and VLF and geochem surveys on the Reid cl in 1989.
Capsule Geology
Geological mapping (Murphy et al., 2001) shows the region is dominantly underlain by a layered sequence of Devonian to Early Mississippian metavolcanic and metasedimentary rocks of the Yukon-Tanana Terrane (YTT) that have been intruded by Mississippian granitic intrusions and later Cretaceous and Jurassic intrusions. The YTT is a volcanic-plutonic pericratonic arc assemblage that was strongly deformed and metamorphosed by Late Triassic time.
The occurrence is underlain by granite of the Early Mississippian Simpson Range Plutonic Suite. Silver, lead, zinc and copper occur in quartz veins 0.1 to 0.5 m wide cutting andesite and monzonite. Samples of vein material contained up to 480.0 g/t Ag, 1.7% Cu, 2.0% Pb and 1.7% Zn.
