Work History

This area was extensively prospected and staked in the 1920's and an adit had been driven on this showing in 1934 when it was first visited by the GSC. The early claim records have not been found.
Staked by J. Mohagen in Aug/53 as Red cl (66549) and in Mar/65 as Gopher cl (92660), which were sold to Boswell River ML later in the year. Boswell performed mapping, geochem and geophysical surveys and limited hand trenching in 1966-68. Restaked as Bug cl (YA7996) in Aug/76 by Tintina Silver ML, and as Chess cl (YA48250) in Sep/79 by Golden Empire ML, which performed linecutting and trenched in 1980 and 1981 and mapping, geochem sampling and road construction in 1982.
Skagway Moly Inc added Moly cl (YA74202) to the west in Oct/81, changed its name to Shakwak ECL, and performed bulldozer trenching in 1982. Restaked as RG cl (YB24070) in Oct/88 by Dominion E Inc.
Restaked as Charm cl 1-16 (YB66577) by 13744 Yukon Inc in Feb/96.

Capsule Geology

Galena occurs in quartz lenses within a thin (1-2 m) dolomite horizon at the contact between a tuff unit to the south and quartz-sericite schist to the north that resembles the Klondike Schist of Palezoic age. The following assays have been reported:

The workings cover a strike length of about 180 m and EM surveys traced the structure for a further 305 m.
The Moly claims were staked to cover an occurrence of molybdenite in quartz feldspar porphyry dykes.
