Work History
Staked as Colt cl 1-8 (YA94137) in Jan/86 by W. Trerice, who trenched in 1986 and 1987. O. Hansen tied on GMC cl 1-3 (YA94369) to the north on Little Violet Creek in Mar/86 and R. Enyedy tied on Casey cl 1 (YA97526) to the south on Cotteneva Creek in Jun/87. C. Barteaux tied on Joyce cl 1-2 (YB21951) to the south in Oct/88, while Trerice trenched again in 1988 and 1989. The Casey cl was restaked as GMC cl 1-3 (YB26391) in Jul/89 by G. Hudson.
Restaked by L. Carlyle and M. Fuerstner Jr, as part of a large block of claims that parallel the South Big Salmon River valley; Cam cl 1-126 (YB97530) were staked in May/97; Cam cl 127-142 (YC07943) were staked in July/97; and Cam cl 143-146 (YC08748) were staked in May/98. Carlyle and Fuerstner carried out geochemical rock and soil sampling, EM and magnetometer surveying in 1997 and 1998; geological mapping and limited geochemical rock and soil sampling in 1999; and geochemical soil sampling and VLF surveying 2 km to the southwest on Little Violet Creek in 2000.
Capsule Geology
The occurrence is underlain by a package of steeply dipping, limestone and quartz-biotite schist. The rocks are Paleozoic in age and are metamorphosed to green schist metamorphic grades. A strong north-northwest trending structural fabric predominates the area and is expressed as a series of faults and/or shear zones which parallel the Big Salmon Fault that runs throughout the area just west of the claim block. No anomalous results for Au were obtained from this or peripheral areas during sampling by Carlyle.
