Work History
The GSC noted five seams at this location in 1906. It was probably staked about 1900, although the records have been lost. Old hand trenches probably date from this period. Luscar L did more pitting in 1969 while it held the surrounding area as Coal Exploration Licence 4.
Restaked as Coal Exploration Licence 301 in Jun/81 by Whitehorse Coal Corp (Echo Developers L), which performed road building and trenching in 1982 and 1983.
Capsule Geology
Two seams were seen in 1969, separated by 2.4 m of shale, of which the best was about 0.9 m thick. The coal is badly weathered and appears to be of poor quality. Host rocks are the Jurassic-Cretaceous Tantalus Formation.
