Work History

Probably staked as Copper Bell cl (258) in May/1898 by J.A. Collins. Restaked as GNM cl (90774) in Sep/64 by P.R. Gosselin; Dymax cl (Y4958) in Apr/66 by Dymax EL; and Mineral Claim cl (Y9854) in Aug/66 by P. Gosselin. Dymax EL conducted minor trenching in 1967. The GNM and Mineral Claim were explored 1964-1971 with hand trenching, a 1.5 m adit and a 4.5 m packsack drill hole and by 2 holes (208.8 m) in 1972 and were transferred in 1978 to M. Larocque.
Restaked as FM & MF cl (YA74218) in Nov/81 by G. McLeod and optioned to Shakwak ECL, which performed mapping and a mag survey in 1982 and added Bon cl (YA78229) to the northwest in Aug/83. W. Harris restaked the FM & MF claims as Bog cl (YA81122) in Dec/83. Restaked as Bug cl (YA87163) in Jun/85 by G. McLeod who conducted geological and geochemical surveys in 1986. The Billy cl (YA95356) were staked to the north in Jul/86 by P. Lundgren. The Bug claims were transferred to the Dunvegan Exp CL, which performed road work and trenching in 1987, and mapping, VLF and magnetometer surveys and grid geochemical sampling in 1989. R. Voisine tied on Rog cl (YB26870) southwest of the Bug cl in Oct/89.
Restaked as 20 Bug cl (YB36850) in May/92 by Dunvegan Explorations Ltd. The company carried out drilling, blasting and trenching on the claims in Nov/94.
Restaked as Log cl 1-82 (YB664630 by A. Macdonald in Dec/95. The claims were transfered to Cra-Mar Mining Inc. in Jan/97. The company drilled 34 auger holes totaling 179.3m in 1997.

Capsule Geology

A quartz-carbonate alteration zone occupies the sheared, north-trending contact between Laberge Group greywacke, argillite and conglomerate and a serpentinite body associated with Cache Creek volcanic rocks. The altered zone contains minor pyrite and pyrrhotite with traces of violarite, heazlewoodite and pentlandite. Selected samples assay up to 0.24% Ni, 0.02% Cu and 0.01% Co. Traces of brittle asbestos fibre, rarely exceeding 5 mm in length, are found in the serpentinite.
The 1981 staking was prompted by reanalysis of the old core, which returned assays of 1.6 and 2.0 g/t Au from fractured and altered volcanic rocks. Mapping showed that up to 10% pyrite, 1% arsenopyrite and occasional chalcopyrite and chromite are associated with the alteration zone. The unit with the best gold response was not seen at surface.
Two of four trenches cut in 1987 exposed quartz veins. The best vein occurs at the contact between serpentinite and sedimentary rocks and consists of grey brecciated quartz with 5% sulphides, mostly pyrite. A chip sample across the 12 m width of the zone returned 534 ppb Au, including 1790 ppb Au over 50 cm.
A second vein in another trench to the northwest is 0.3 to 1.2 m wide and although it contains no gold or sulphides, it is reported to contain about 7% scheelite. The 1997 auger drilling indicated serpentine bedrock in holes 17-20 located in the southwestern corner of the LOG 13 claim.
