Work History
Staked about 1922 as Maple Leaf cl (4704) by C. Ennis, who explored with several rock cuts and a 10.7 m shaft until 1937. Restaked as Ennis, etc cl (4425) in 1946 by J. Kennedy; as A & J cl (60344) in Jun/51 by A.J. Dickson; as Res cl in Nov/53 by C. Hankins; as Pat, etc cl (85093) in Jun/63 by H. McRow, and as Win and Gin cl (Y4083) in Apr/66 by G. Wing. Only minor pitting and trenching was done between 1937 and 1970.
Restaked as Hawk cl (Y38294) in Sep/69 by M. Nichiporuk, who drilled one 26.5 m hole in 1970; as Mary F cl (Y91299) in Oct/74 by L. Lalonde; as Red cl (YA85591) in Oct/84 by K. MacPhee & R. Hamel, as Bob cl (YA94131) in Jan/86 by L. Hamel and as PPM cl (YA96760) in Jan/87 by C. Stack. In Mar/88, M. Stack tied Rand cl (YB13122) to the north of PPM and added more claims in May/88. J. Suits restaked as Charlie cl (YB26820) in Oct/89.
Restaked Jun/92 as 4 Mosquito cl (YB36892) by S.R. MacPhee, who restaked them as Ennis cl 1-4 (YB38102) in July/93. R.S. Berdahl and G. Rushant staked ET 1-8 cl (YB37632) 3 km to the southeast in Sep/92. The ET claims were prospected and soil sampled in 1992 and 11 pits and one trench were blasted in 1993. These claims were later transferred to G. Rushant who conducted geochemical sampling in Jul/93. Rushant added ET cl 9-12 (YB47040 in July/94.
In July/94 I. Elash staked Hike 1-14 cl (YB46958) 2 km south of Ennis cl. H. Kern tied Hike 201-212 cl (YB54531) onto east side of Ennis cl in Sept/94. In Jan/95 Kern restaked Ennis cl as Hike 213-216 (YB57379).
Capsule Geology
Widely spaced chalcopyrite stringers up to 10 cm wide occur in metamorphosed volcanic rocks of uncertain age, which contain local chert and siliceous breccia phases. Two grab samples of material from the shaft dump assayed 2.5 and 2.1% Cu, 2.4 and trace Ag, and trace Au. Quartz-carbonate veinlets are common in the area but most are unmineralized. The 1970 hole cut minor sulphides assaying 0.03 to 0.05% Cu.
