Work History

Staked as Galconda 2 cl (3675) in Aug/1900 and Florence M cl (2834) in Sep/02 by A. Thompson, who explored with 30 m and 3.7 m shafts, trenches and road building and took the claim to lease in 1911.

Capsule Geology

A quartz vein that ranges from 1.8 to 7.6 m wide has been traced for over 305 m along strike. Minor disseminated pyrite and chalcopyrite is present. All samples taken by MacLean assayed trace Au. A grab sample of the best mineralization on the shaft dump, collected by R.J. Cathro in 1972, assayed 0.7% Cu, 30.9 g/t Ag, less than 0.1% Pb and trace Au. The vein occurs near a faulted contact between limestone of the Upper Triassic Lewes River Group and greywacke of the Lower Jurassic Laberge Group.
