Work History
Staked as Eagle cl 1-32 (YB34975) in Aug/92 by J. White. The Eagle 33-36 cl (YB45930) were added in July/93 by S.J. Clark. In Aug/93, Eagle cl 1-32 were transferred to Eagle Creek Mining and Exploration Corporation which subsequently performed trenching on some of the claims.
Capsule Geology
The area lies southwest of the Tintina Trench and is underlain by sedimentary rocks assigned to the Cassiar Terrane. The area was originally mapped by Poole (1951-1955) and Roddick and Green (1959) of the Geological Survey of Canada. No recent geological mapping has been carried out in the immediate area.
D. Murphy mapped topographic map sheet 105B 11 (located to the south) at 1:50 000 scale in 1987. Gordey and Makepeace of the Geological Survey of Canada released a geological compilation of the Yukon in 2003. Extrapolation of data from these geological maps suggest the occurrence is underlain by Upper Proterozoic quartzite and limestone assigned to the Tsaydiz Formation of the Ingenik Assemblage.
No assessment or other exploration work appears to have ever been filed for this occurrence. Based on placer mining inspection reports the occurrence lies in an overburden covered valley. Depth to bedrock averages approximately 8.5 metres.
