Work History
The early history is not known but old bulldozer trenches at this location may have been excavated in 1969-1972 in conjunction with work on the adjacent Shilsky occurrence.
Staked as the JB cl (YA34998) in Sep/78 by J. Burdock. Restaked as Garry cl (YA57344) in Feb/81 by B. Bailey. Can Occidental Pet L tied on Lost cl (YA66150) to the east in Jul/81. The Garry claims were transferred to S.M.R. Investments L in 1985.
Restaked as Lena cl (YA91461) in Aug/85 by McCrory Holdings L, which performed sampling in 1987 and trenching in 1988.
Capsule Geology
The claims are underlain by interbedded limestone and mica schist of probable Cambrian age, cut by several prominent, north-trending lineaments cross the property.
A few large boulders of vein material containing coarse-grained sphalerite, galena, pyrite and chalcopyrite in a quartz-carbonate gangue are exposed in the trenches. The boulders are up to 2 m across and are erratically mineralized with sulphides. The source is not exposed.
A specimen of rusty vuggy quartz containing sphalerite and minor pyrite and arsenopyrite assayed 44.6 g/t Ag, 0.6% Pb and 0.7% Zn. Another specimen returned 164.6 g/t Ag, 18.0% Zn and 2.9% Cu.
