Work History

Staked as Oake cl (YA54187) in Mar/80 by Regional Res L and optioned briefly by a joint venture between Amax and Pan Ocean, which carried out mapping and geochem sampling later in the year.

Capsule Geology

The claims were staked to cover lead and zinc soil anomalies and are underlain by Lower Cambrian chloritic phyllite and argillaceous limestone. The phyllite occasionally hosts quartz veins (up to 1.0 m) which carry pyrite and traces of chalcopyrite. Soil samples contained up to 505 ppm Cu, 87 ppm Pb, 590 ppm Zn and 1.3 ppm Ag.
