Work History
Apparently first staked as Luck cl (Y29466) in Aug/69 by R. Bailey and optioned by Cone Mountain ML, which performed trenching and road building in 1970 and mapping, geochem and EM surveys and minor trenching in 1972 and 1974.
Restaked as Ant cl (YA54600) in May/80 by Klondike Silver ML and optioned by Terra Mg & EL, which performed trenching, mapping and an EM survey in 1981. The property was optioned in 1985 by United Keno ML, which explored with grid soil sampling, VLF and magnetic surveys and 8 rotary percussion drill holes (387 m) later in the year and dropped its option in 1987.
Restaked by H. Caesar in Jul/91 as Sheep cl 1-4 (YB33134). B. Laursen tied on Bone cl (YB34264) to the north in Sep/91. In Nov/95 Caesar staked Sheep cl 5-6 (YB71261) on the north end of his claim block.
Capsule Geology
Cone Mountain discovered four minor vein zones in Yukon and a fifth on the B.C. side, all within the Cassiar Batholith. The Yukon veins strike east-west, are less than 2 m wide and return low assays. The best Yukon showing is Zone 2, where a grab sample of galena in quartz assayed 624.0 g/t Ag, 8.4% Pb and trace Au. A float train along the border averaged 665.2 g/t Ag, 61.2% Pb and 0.5% Zn. Individual specimens have assayed as high as 17 279.5 g/t Ag and 60% Pb, while a composite sample from 43 float boulders assayed 9274.0 g/t Ag, 57.9% Pb, 0.7% Zn, 0.4% Cu and only trace Au. The best 1985 drill assay returned 432.0 g/t Ag across 1.5 m.
