Work History
Staked as Sin cl (YA33343) in Jun/78 by Welcome North ML and optioned to Klinkit JV (DuPont of Can EL & Duval Corp), which conducted detailed mapping and geochem sampling in 1978 and 1979. The property was reoptioned briefly in 1980-81 by DC Synd (Dome & Cominco), which performed mapping, trenching and sampling in 1981.
In Jul/97 B.S. Wilson staked Sparrow cl 1 (YB89863) 3 km to the west.
Capsule Geology
Minor malayaite occurs with quartz, tourmaline, fluorite and muscovite in weak greisen zones associated with a leucocratic phase of the Seagull Batholith. Soil sampling by DuPont outlined a tin anomaly more than 1 km long with values which ranged from 200 ppm to 0.26% Sn.
Tin mineralization was found in a few pieces of quartz-tourmaline vein float and in altered intrusive material containing veins and disseminations of quartz, tourmaline, fluorite and muscovite. Rock samples returned assays up to 0.1% Sn in the discovery area and specimens of magnetite-garnet skarn from a second showing to the northwest assayed up to 0.2% Sn.
